Mayan Calendar: A non-cataclysm view Other folk interpret the Mayan Calendar in different ways. One of the most outspoken and prolific is Carl J. Calleman. Here's an article about the ideas of Carl and of Ian Lungold - a quite unique and non-earth-catastrophe angle:

link me longshot, February 4, 2004 at 4:03:00 AM AEDT Nazis In the United States it was not yetr the United States. It was a green continent, mostly unspoiled ripe for takeover. First there were MANY slayings of the native people. THEN they filled ships up with slaves from ANOTHER relatively unspoiled continent and putthem to work. THEN they had a revolution against the tyrants they'd left behind in Britain (their cousins, brothers and sisters) and said it was for Liberty, Justice and Freedom. without the sytematic genocide of many people it would have been impossible, including British as well as slaves who died in misery. The United States was thusly born. SO? Genghis Khan. Alexander the Great. Mass Murderers have for whatever damned reason, been painted as heroes after their conquests. it always involved blood. When people say that America is nothing like Nazi Germany was at the height of its infamy I have to laugh: because history shows differently. But i realise that of course secrets and lies have made a lot of this possible. FORTUNATELTY this is the 21st century: so instead of just intuitively shooting my mouth off i can show you the proof. yes, it is true horror. There are racists of every race: they almost always hide their racism under a pretense of righteousness. People do get to make their own decisions in life no matter who says otherwise. But -- humanity will figure out alternatives to war. We can tell by listening to the arguments of those who say that such is "impossible' -- and then, if we really care, look into the statements of the people who have spoken out against war. Basically it is women and children who suffer the most in ANY armed conflict. Have some respect for women and children before saying that war is inevitable: because you are saying then that the lives of children and women are expendable things: easily replaced by another big push. think about it! Because there is a man in power today whose grandfather was tried for selling steel and war supplies to the country his country, the United States of American, was fighting against. Prescott bush is his name. In the American Revolution: famous traitor Benedict Arnold was hanged for treason. Prescott Bush got a cash fine (he was rich: he paid it off) and went on to found the USO and maneuver his son and grandson into...well you've heard of geroge Bush, right? wake up. link me RobertBast, July 25, 2003 at 6:17:00 PM AEST Temple Mount slowly becoming less Jewish The article is from a Jewish website, but I have read about this elsewhere. Regardless of your religion, it makes interesting reading, on just how delicate and confusing the religious aspects of Moslems and Jews co-exisitng in Israel can be. In a nutshell, the Moslems are destroying any possible evidence that sacred Jewish temples were once on the Mount, and the Israeli government is letting them. What I feel is happening, is that a lot of serious stuff will go down there, prior to 2012. These religious groups will feel the end of the world a'coming, and they will want to have control of sacred places.
link me RobertBast, July 3, 2003 at 11:59:00 AM AEST Possible to live on water & sunlight alone? A guy in India says he does, and NASA are taking him seriously: Hira Ratan Manek - a 64-year-old mechanical engineer went on a pilgrimage to the Himalayas in 1995 and stopped eating completely on his return. His wife, Vimla, said: "Every evening he looks at the sun for one hour without batting an eyelid. It is his main food. Occasionally he takes coffee, tea or some other liquid." Last June, scientists from the US space agency verified that Manek spent 130 days surviving only on water, the report said. They even named this subsistence on water and solar energy after him: The HRM (Hira Ratan Manek) Phenomenon. Mr Manek is now in the US to show NASA's scientists how he survives without food.
link me RobertBast, July 12, 2002 at 5:12:00 PM AEST Chimaeras and Mosiacs
These are human genetic oddities known as Chimaeras and Mosiacs. Chimaeras are humans who are composed of two genetically distinct types of cells, caused by two different eggs (ie twins) fusing into one embryo. So a person can have some body parts which are male, and some which are female! Mosaics have patches of tissue that differ genetically from the rest of their body, thanks to a mutation or chromosomal anomaly that arose early in embryological development. The article looks at how many more of these people exist without being detected, and the problems of providing medication for someone who is really two different people. And with the the use of IVF, comes more twins, and more chimaeras and mosiacs. More info...
link me RobertBast, April 23, 2002 at 8:49:00 PM AEST Sun vs Cancer Sun Bad Usually: Hot Sun = Sunburn = Skin Cancer But for those who live in freezing Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, rates of skin cancer have increased by 66 percent in less than 20 years. The cause is an ozone hole twice the size of Europe, which makes it the most ultra-violet place to be outside of Antarctica Sun Good During the past two decades, ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation from the sun has been blamed for a significant increase in melanoma and other skin cancer. However, during the same period, there have been many articles in reputable journals indicating that sunlight actually affords protection against many other types of cancer. If Americans in the northern part of the country had more exposure to sunlight, then there might be 30,000 less deaths from about a dozen types of cancers, with only 3,000 more deaths from skin cancers. Story at NewsWise link me RobertBast, April 15, 2002 at 8:16:00 PM AEST Heart storms The Russians can be a bit far out in the fields of science, but who are we to dispute their conclusions... This abstract hints at the widespread adverse reactions that could result from geomagnetic storms: The scientists at Russian People Friendship University and the Institute of Space Research, Russian Academy of Sciences, decided to see what happens in the cardiac system at geomagnetic storms. The scientists found out that the geomagnetic field storm influences the structure of the cardiac muscle cells fatally. link me 2012, January 14, 2002 at 11:52:50 PM AEDT Off Topic - Acupuncture At long last proof that aspects of acupuncture work. Basically, 2000 years of acupuncturing has said that flesh grasps at the little needles. It has now been proven that it does... link me 2012, January 9, 2002 at 8:34:58 AM AEDT Neanderthals not stupid A team of archaeologists and scientists has discovered that Neanderthals, thought to have first appeared around 230,000 to 300,000 years ago, were capable of a sophisticated tool manufacturing process using prehistoric superglue that had to be made at a precise temperature. This story from the Independent also dares to ask "why we are here and not them", and suggests that the only differences are physical. Could it be that we modern humans are just physially mutated Neanderthals?? link me |
