Huge dinosaur graveyard unearthed Yet again, bones of different species have been found in the same spot.
...and yet again, the only logical reason is that they were all sharing a drink at a watering hole (instead of being pulverised by a cataclysm...).
link me 2012, July 2, 2004 at 8:34:00 AM AEST Giant Hippos in England This is being reported as new, but hippo remains in England have been found previously.
The article talks of the animals being buried in soft earth, then covered by glacial deposits thousands of years later. The alternative explanation would be that they were buried deep during a global cataclysm - with a pole shift explaining why it is too cold in England for hippos these days....

link me 2012, May 31, 2004 at 6:57:00 AM AEST Burgess Shale = Rapid Burial! There is evidence that the Rancho La Brea tar pits are a site of rapid burial and subsequent fossilization... and now we find the same for Burgess Shale. "...the journal Nature reports the discovery of the first fossilised creature to actually be caught in the act of shedding its exoskeleton." This cannot happen slowly, as: "There are two main reasons why the fossil record has, until now, been reluctant to provide such evidence. Firstly, a creature in moult has a soft body, which does not preserve easily - the conditions have to be just right. And secondly, the process of moulting is usually very quick, meaning the "window of fossil opportunity" is small. The likelihood of capturing such an event is so astronomically small..." This means it had to be buried rapidly and deeply because the moulting process occurs so quickly, and during the process the animal has a soft body and is easily destroyed. Quick burials = fossils = cataclysms
link me 2012, May 24, 2004 at 3:30:00 PM AEST Mammoths not extincted by humans New Scientist, March 27, 2004, page 16: A study of mammoth tooth enamel and three Clovis sites (10-13K years old) show a wide variety of isotope ratios, which basically means that the large numbers of mammoth bones at each site accumulated over thousands of years. They were not all slaughtered en masse. At another site, where all the mammoths drowned at once, the isotopes were the same. One wonders if these mammoths that drowned at once was during a global cataclysm.... link me RobertBast, March 11, 2004 at 10:19:00 PM AEDT Venus Transits This was posted at the Yahoo Group 2012-Theories by Burak Eldem (website) The "first leg" of the next Venus transit pair is on June 8th. I just wanted to share some intriguing "coincidences" about the previous known transits: 1874: Etna eruption and earthquakes around Italy and Greece 1882: Again, Etna activity and Krakatoa eruption in less than a year 1761: Some "Icelandic" eruptions 1769: Six months later (early 1770) Izalpa eruption (El Salvador) 1631: Vezuv eruption 1639: Again, some Icelandic activity And the second leg is in.... 2012
link me 2012, February 28, 2004 at 8:15:00 AM AEDT You must see this movie! The Day After Tomorrow is a movie being released on May 28. This is the first day that Venus crosses the face of the sun (it will do it from May 28 - June 10). The next and only time it will do this is 2012. Supposedly Roland Emmerlich has a secret message in the movie regarding 2012. The movie is about a global cataclysm, and the trailer suggests one happened 10,000 years ago, and one is due very soon. We now have the propoganda to help get enough people to regard the potential disaster as a possibility. I am in shock that my cause has been given such a boost. link me longshot, February 26, 2004 at 8:03:00 PM AEDT "The Highest Spirit of Reason" The word Apocalypse is interesting. Its vulgar meaning is misconstrued from the final book of the Bible, Revelations, which Saint John the Divine wrote after obtaining a vision whilst imprisoned in a cave on the Grecian isle of Patmos. The Saint describes an end of time, a resurrection of the souls of the dead, a divine last judgement, followed by a grand entry of the souls of the blessed into Paradise. Need we say more? R.D. Laing points out that if you scrutinise the text, you will not find a single indication that he was talking about an external phenomenon! The word itself, in Greek, simply means "revelation," or more precisely, the uncovering of something that was hidden. (44) Then there was also Saint Nicholas of Cusa, the mystic who said: "The gate of Paradise is guarded by the highest Spirit of Reason, who bars the way until he has been overcome." link me pheonix, February 25, 2004 at 7:14:00 AM AEDT Your Attention One Moment Please Has the world gone totally mad? You all seem to be sitting here debating the finer points of the end of the world. Who? What? Where? Why? Why hasn't anyone got up and done anything about this? And before you mutter under your breaths about "How can we do anything if we don't know whats going to happen?". The clues are all around us, growing national tensions, the west pointing nuclear weapons at anyone who doesn't conform, you name the place theres a possible end of the world there. But why is no-one standing up and taking control of the situation? The problems caused by governments and idiots blowing each other up. You may not have noticed theres more of us than them! You need to stand up and take control! No event is set in stone, it's up to us to stop this from happening not deciding what hole to hide in when it does. link me squidlet, February 23, 2004 at 12:18:00 AM AEDT End, or New Begining? There are some great articles on this blog but according to my understanding the reason the Mayan's Calendar only goes to the year 2012 is because they believed that this would be the begining of a new cycle. link me RobertBast, February 20, 2004 at 12:01:00 AM AEDT Gaia’s Rebirth: A 2012 novel

Anyway, increasingly I have this idea in my head, which may end up being the focus of my book (due any year now), that everything that is going on right now - Bush. Middle East. Terrorism - is related to some secret prohecy that Armageddon will occur in 2012, and whoever controls the Temple Mount will get eternal heaven. For info on George W Bush and Jews, follow this link: link me RobertBast, February 4, 2004 at 3:50:00 PM AEDT Ideal size for survival clans Scenario: The big cataclysm occurs in 2012, and the vast majority of life is wiped out. Groups of clever people have planned for this and camped out at spots predicted to be safe. And they survive. Life afterwards will have all the social problems of today. Size of groups? I was reading New Scientist (20/27 Dec 2003, pages 60-61) - an article about the ideal size of human tribes, clans etc. After studying other primates, "Dunbar then predicts that humans should have social networks of about 150 people. Support for this number comes from tribal societies and from history. Modern hunters and gatherers typically live in clans of about 150 members (although they can range from 90 to 200). ....The size of hunter-gatherer groups... is constrained by the amount of territory people can cover and its productivity in terms of food." The article began by saying that for christmas cards, taking into account that it is common for say a couple to send a card to a family of four, we each typically send Xmas wishes to about 150 people - the ideal size of a social network. So come 2012, do we prepare in clans of 150, or do we be very practical and ghoulish and have large clans, with the expectation that some might not survive a cataclysm? link me RobertBast, January 28, 2004 at 12:57:00 PM AEDT Precise moment of impending doom According to the U.S. Naval Observatory, the precise time and date for the northern hemisphere winter solstice in 2012 is: Dec 21, 11:11 Universal Time
link me RobertBast, December 16, 2003 at 8:21:00 PM AEDT Chinese Flood Myth not from India
It had been thought that the reason why the Chinese had such a similar flood / creation myth as the Indians and Egyptians is because it originated in one of those places. Now an expert has concluded that it originated in China, and developed independently. The people of Laibin "still celebrate a traditional Pan Gu Festival, tell centuries-old tales, sing lyrics and stage operas about the God," he said. "Many villages, mountains and grottoes have been named after Pan Gu, too."
link me RobertBast, November 21, 2003 at 8:39:00 AM AEDT Will animals survive a Magentic Pole Reversal? Well, according to the standard science in a PBS report... yes. The reason is that the reversal, like everything else in nature, will take a very long time to happen. So long and slow that the animals will get used to it, and recalibrate their senses to deal with the changes. No mention of the possibility of a sudden magnetic pole reversal. I still like to think that most species will survive, because some will still randomly find their way to wherever they are meant to be.
link me RobertBast, November 20, 2003 at 11:33:00 AM AEDT Gilgamesh tomb believed found The Epic Of Gilgamesh, a key component of any "the Biblical Flood really happened" theory has been validated by archaeology: "In the book - actually a set of inscribed clay tablets - Gilgamesh was described as having been buried under the Euphrates, in a tomb apparently constructed when the waters of the ancient river parted following his death. "We found just outside the city an area in the middle of the former Euphrates river the remains of such a building which could be interpreted as a burial," Mr Fassbinder said. ..."We covered more than 100 hectares. We have found garden structures and field structures as described in the epic, and we found Babylonian houses." But he said the most astonishing find was an incredibly sophisticated system of canals."
link me RobertBast, October 13, 2003 at 10:40:00 AM AEST Power Blackouts There have, in recent weeks, been several big power blackouts in the United States, Britain, Italy, Denmark and Sweden - and now in the Czech Republic. Could the end of the world be something as simple as humans not being able to cope without power? Interesting detailed article suggests that the CIA might be the culprits.
link me RobertBast, August 26, 2003 at 2:55:00 PM AEST The planets are aligning again... Even come across a really bad book called 5-5-2000, about how the ligning up of the planets would cause a doomsday? Well, I heard a scientist explain that the extra pull of gravity was less than that caused by a jumbo jet flying overhead, and when the dreaded day came, nothing happened. Apparantly the author had already book lecture dates for after the doomsday, so he hadn't even convinced himself! The point is, they are aligning again tomorrow. See this graphic: Alignments link me RobertBast, July 24, 2003 at 8:23:00 PM AEST Japan Researchers Cloning Mammoths... "Japanese scientists hoping to clone prehistoric woolly mammoths are preparing their first frozen DNA samples in bid to bring the beasts back to life. The bone marrow, muscle and skin specimens were unearthed last August in the Siberian tundra where they had been preserved in ice for thousands of years. Researchers ... want to use the genetic material encased within the cells to clone a woolly mammoth... But first, they must determine whether the five specimens airlifted from Russia are really from mammoths. If so, they must then decide whether the DNA locked inside is well enough preserved to self-replicate. After that, it could take years to actually produce an animal." Cool - then we can send the mammoths to Siberia and find out if they really do like living in frozen wastelands, with no buttercups to munch on.
