Gatenbrink door opens Sept 16 (or earlier?) Took them long enough - too many years of wondering what is still hidden within the Great Pyramid Since when have these characters opened a tomb etc for the first time, live in front of the world. If they have a robot that can peek under the door, they will have given it a test run. They already know what is behind the door. For all we know, they have opened the door, and swapped what was there with something shiny to please the tv viewers.
link me RobertBast, August 12, 2002 at 3:06:00 PM AEST Vinland Map - real or fake? Ever since it surfaced in 1957, the Vinland Map has been controversial. Id authentic, it proves that Vikings found North America before Christopher Columbus. Others argue that it is instead the work of a 20th-century counterfeiter. Now the results of two new studies are adding further fuel to the debate. A report published in the journal Analytical Chemistry concludes that the map's ink has modern roots; researchers writing in the August issue of the journal Radiocarbon, on the other hand, say that the parchment dates back to 1434.

Divers Discover Maya Relics in Caves That Became Rivers "We have found hearths and human remains dating to a period when the caves were dry, an estimated 8,000 to 9,000 years ago," Mr. Meacham said. For half a century, scholars have searched in vain for the source of the jade that the early civilizations of the Americas prized above all else and fashioned into precious objects of worship, trade and adornment.Previously non-orthodox researchers suggested that it must have come from overseas, perhaps Burma. link me RobertBast, May 19, 2002 at 8:27:00 AM AEST Oronteus Finaeus Map = Australia? After decades of debate over whether this map is of an ice-free Antarctica or not, a new theory has arrived from an Italian researcher. This article by Diego Cuoghi shows at the bottom of the second page that the word Java on the map actually refers to Indonesia, and therefore the focus of the map is Australia and not Antarctica. [ the article is in Italian, but he hopes to have an English translation done soon - in the meantime, use the tools at Searchenginez to translate entire web pages ] My input: The Tropic of Capricorn grazes the top of "Antarctica" which would make Antarctica much, much larger than it really is. The Tropic does however pass through northern Australia, which is a much closer fit. And: The centre of the map, the South Pole, could be a confusion. The Aboriginal people of Australia have their most sacred place right in the center - Uluru (previously known as Ayers Rock) 1996 article against it being Antarctica - by Paul Heinrich High res image of map - 510K Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings - by Charles Hapgood link me RobertBast, May 15, 2002 at 7:46:00 AM AEST Gulf of Cambay: Artifacts or Geofacts?
