Swedish scientists now believe that "all modern dogs originate from a small number of female wolves living in East Asia some 15,000 years ago".

It is well known that the many different varieties of dog we have today is due to human intervention - deliberate breeding strategies because we love them as pets. But how did they change from wolves to dogs? Why? Where is the missing link?

I suggest: Some wolves mutated into a new species, dogs, during the last cataclysm. Cosmic rays caused the mutations.
