The "first leg" of the next Venus transit pair is on June 8th. I just wanted to share some intriguing "coincidences" about the previous known transits:

1874: Etna eruption and earthquakes around Italy and Greece 1882: Again, Etna activity and Krakatoa eruption in less than a year

1761: Some "Icelandic" eruptions 1769: Six months later (early 1770) Izalpa eruption (El Salvador)

1631: Vezuv eruption 1639: Again, some Icelandic activity

And the second leg is in.... 2012
